From Our Chairman:

As small business owners, you and I understand the importance of networking with others with similar business concerns. As a part of a regulated industry that is watched closely by the government, we understand the need to be informed and provide ourselves the capability to participate in the process of determining our business’s direction and the abilities for success.

As an association, the ABC Stores of South Carolina is the advocate for us. We are primarily family owned and independently operated small businesses that have an economic impact on our state. By joining together, we have a voice in how we are able to operate our businesses.

Our legislative agenda has been busy the past few years. We have been involved in legislation concerning the sale and delivery of liquor, various tax issues, including new taxes on retailers, as well as permit and licensing issues. We as retailers are in what I would term “the fight of our life” or “the fight for our livelihood.” In fact, if you aren’t aware, we and the SC Department of Revenue have been sued by Total Wine and More over the three store limit. In early January, the South Carolina Court upheld the constitutionality of statutory limitation on retail dealer licenses.

Please consider joining the association and protecting your business’s livelihood. There are several levels of membership available to you and each is equally important.
